The Rotting Sun Daily has been, for decades, an iconic medium that brings the entire town together. Ever wonder where the name comes from? Today, we look at the fascinating phenomenon that gives this island its most identifying characteristic. For reasons that have still not been discovered by scientists, sometimes the sun rises with a tint of green covering its appearance, making it look as if it is rotting. This is a truly mind boggling concept as neither can its presence be predicted nor does it have any known consequence on the environment. Though in theory, this phenomenon sounds morbid, the townsfolk celebrate it as a sign of good fortune. This belief started in the late 1800s, when Bruce Kabot and his wife, unable to produce an heir for years, found out about their pregnancy the day the Rotting Sun Phenomenon took place in the town. Something that all Éadóchas citizens hold dear, this phenomenon is a spectacular show of nature’s curious oddities.
