The people of the island and who they are in their own words!
Hii, I'm Harry Mathews, a proud homegrown Éadóchan. Éadóchite? I don't know, because Mr. Dar doesn't know, and i dont think the Kabots know either. I run the Rotting Sun Daily, and I'm always on the lookout for a scoop, so if you see something, be sure to contact me! The Daily is devoted to facts and UNBIASED reporting, so I won't stand for gossip in my newspaper! We have a small audience now, but one day I'll have my own big office in a mainland newspaper, and be giving you the hot news from a fancy studio, just wait!
I’m Klaudia Kabot, heiress of the kabot family fortune (or as I would put it, misfortune. My sister has always been the fortunate one.) There’s not much one can do as an invalid shut-in, especially in a town that despises you. But Antonio is my saving grace, and the only person worth knowing around here anyway. I don’t know what I’d do without him. The people in this town think they know me, but they never learned to listen. I’m sure they will learn to regret it one day.
It would seem that I have been asked to talk about myself yet again; although there is little to say, I shall oblige nonetheless. I am Mocair Ferdinand. The piercing scent of ale and the din of raucous laughter surrounds the pub that I run - a haven for the ones who are happy, sad and desperate in equal measure. I watch as they come to be regaled by the beer and the stories I have. I watch as they go with a pint still in their hand. And the ones who have no better place to be, be it the fall of dusk or the break of dawn, for whom the rotting sun shines too brightly outside - I might even serenade them with the Dark Side Of The Moon.
Good evening everyone, Yusuf here. I'm glad to be a part of this venture that young Harry has made. I remember when he was just a curious little boy in my school. Oh how has he grown. My days on this island have been quite wonderful, as most of them are spent teaching children History, Math English etc. The rest of them, I'm either at home reading or with my dearest friend Drew at Mocair's. I hope this will do, Harry, and that your old teacher hasn't disappointed you. Do visit someday.
Hi! I’m Akira. My day starts with a jog in the morning around the island. After getting ready, I meet up with Erin and get some coffee, and then we go to the garage together. Today was just perfect, it started with the barista giving me a complementary cookie. On top of that the weather was just perfect too, I don’t know why people complain about it. I love it and love this island. I love my job, I have a great time working at the garage. After I leave from work, I usually meet George and Harry on my way home, and sometimes we end up going to the local bar to catch up on what is happening around town.
Hi everyone, my name is Antonio Dcosta, your beloved groundskeeper. I've lived on this island for 54 years now and it's been amazing so far. I love my life here, working as a caretaker for the lovely Klaudia Kabot. I mostly spend my day at the Kabot Manor, while the latter half goes in visiting other people's houses to fix things. I return home late in the evening. My shoulders are strong but I mostly just use them to carry my daughter around. Speaking of, she demands my presence at her soft toy tea party that’s starting now, so I’m going to take your leave now.
