The Letter.

I spoke of an anonymous letter that I had received in my mailbox the last time I wrote here. I figured I would share it, just to keep a record of everything. It went like this:

"Yusuf,

I know that receiving this must be surprising to you, sending this was a bit of a shock to me too. I am assuming that by now that you have recognised my writing, I think I am allowed to expect that much of you.

I wouldn’t have contacted you if things around hadn’t been troubling me. I feel the rotting sun rising soon and I don’t want to think of the consequences of that occurrence. We have buried memories and heartbreaks in this very soil that tied us together long ago, Yusuf, but I believe that we aren’t beyond digging up old partnerships if that is what the times demand.

Contact me if you too understand this unease in my heart.
