I know that all of you expect me to address the elephant in the room, the murder, but something much more important happened this week and I must talk about it first. Antonio turned 55! Alright wait, this won’t work, I shall start from the beginning and catch up on the important things that did happen this week. It’s mostly just one thing and that was the meeting that Antonio held about the autopsy report of J. Yonah Jamieson. Antonio explained the details of the murder and also shared the conclusion that he had come to- that murders were not done by some drifter, as we had once theorised but it had to be someone from the island. This sent a chill through the room. A few people were quick to stand up and speak against the “people on the Kabot grounds”, saying that we are too suspicious to not be looked into. Antonio, bless his heart, thought that this was about him and laughed it off. But then someone else piped in and mentioned that this was in fact about me and Antonio quickly became furious. He has always been so protective of me. I remember when I was a sick child, I would always have my tiny hand in his big one as he sneaked me out and we explored the Kabot woods. Even after Mother and Father passed away and even after June went away, Antonio was always there with his loving hugs and his unwavering strength. He is my best friend and my guiding figure. I don’t think any amount of words could sum up what he means to me but I tried to make him a small gift to express at least a little of what I felt. I have been learning how to crochet secretly for the past year. At the beginning of this week, I was able to finish a small doll which I gave to Antonio as his present. I knew it wasn’t something that he could use but I thought it would be something he could carry around and have with him so that he would be reminded of me. Antonio had ended up giving it to his daughter because he thought she would like it but I told him that it was for him to have specifically. He has been carrying it in that big coat of his ever since. It is very cute. We even had a little birthday party for him at home- just me, him, Erin and Akeno. Akeno had made something that resembled a cake and Erin had brought her homemade spaghetti which caused immense delight in Antonio. We had a lot of fun, despite Erin being as cold as she always is towards me. It is times like this when I understand what every cliche quote about family talks about. I prefer this to the pathetic show that June puts up with her parties. I know I was invited to the one she threw for Antonio yesterday but I never intended to go. I can’t bear the pretence of love and care that she displays. But in hindsight, I should have gone yesterday because more than one sensational thing happened there- one being the big fight between Drew and Harry, and the other being the murder of George Sandberg. Apparently, Harry woke up beside her dead body. I cannot imagine what that must feel like. I saw his report on the finding too, it is the most curious thing. I shall update everything when I find out more. Until then, all I can do is be cautious and attentive.
