The party organized by Miss Kabot, the elder one was quite an affair. It was quite gracious of her to organize such an extravagant party for Antonio's birthday. Of course I had no complains, since I was the one asked to play host. The people began to flow in around 8:00 pm. The first one to show up of course was Miss Kabot, the sign of a fine host. Akira and Harry came as a pair a bit later and so did Drew and the kindly professor. Drew was wearing quite a "summery" outfit despite how cold it was and her face looked a bit flushed too. Yusuf seemed a bit happier today than he had been for the last few days. Erin, Akeno and Jose came just a few minutes before Antonio, who came with his family. Erin had dressed appropriately for the occasion which came as a surprise to me but I guess it must have been Akeno who convinced her to dress up for the party. I was busy throughout, helping George with the drinks and humouring all the guests that Miss Kabot could not entertain. I saw the tempers begin to rise before anyone could. I'm always the first to notice things like this, being a bartender teaches you how to read people and read people well. For everyone else, it was a surprise. One moment everything was fine the next, Drew had thrown her drink at Harry and the two had to be separated by the rest. A sudden incident for some, but I saw the instances, and instigations even building up to it. It was around this time that people began to slip out, drowsy and drunk and it was at this moment that Miss Kabot proved to be a better host than I could ever imagine for she even remembered the guest that didn't show up, Sariah Jacques as she asked me to send her my finest bottle of wine. Though I would have gladly jumped on the opportunity, sadly I had to ask George to do so instead as I had pressing work to attend to. And as the moon rose in the night sky I could not help but feel uneasy, for something in that party felt amiss. My eyes it seems, have grown old.
